Hi there,

Entering bills and recording their corresponding payments in QuickBooks Online is a straightforward process. Keeping track of your expenses is an important part of running your business, and QuickBooks is here to help make sure you stay on the right track. I'd be happy to explain why you don't see taxes when entering a bill payment.

You'll select the correct tax code when you create the bill in QuickBooks Online, not when you record it's payment. When you create your bill, select the proper tax code by clicking on the column for Sales Tax. This will ensure your bill has accounted for all the necessary taxes.

When you then go to record your bill payment, the total will be inclusive of the taxes you selected when you created the bill. Therefore you won't see the taxes broken down on the payment screen.

I hope this helps clarify things for you. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our tech support team. I'm confident that our awesome agents can get you back on track.

Cheers!
