Hi there. A receipt was uploaded in the incorrect amount, but was marked billable and the invoice has already gone out. I now have the bank transaction for the correct amount, but I cannot match them. What’s the easiest way to go about this?
When setting up 5000 COGS, and setting up Sub-accounts (ie: 5001, 5002, etc.) I noticed a flaw in the software engineering. How do we get around this flaw? The problem arises when going into Products & Services (gear icon - top right), and finding an inventory product. Go to edit, and scroll down to purchasing said product. There is a drop down menu that you connect to the COGS tracking. Well, it appears that the Sub-accounts (5001, 5002, etc.) that you have just set up, do not show in this window. If we can not track inventory the way it was meant too, then for Trades or inventory tracking companies, this is a MAJOR flaw. If we cannot track inventory and show it in reports, we can not properly see the coming and going of inventory properly. It literally turns Quickbooks Online into a paper weight. Can this BE FIXED please? I troubleshooted with Claude AI scraping the forums to see how companies are handling this. Some are leaving Intuit all together, because the work around is we
I have a credit from an Insurance provider and recorded the credit in AP as per advice on this site. Then I entered the Deposit choosing the Vendor name as Received from and Accounts Payable under From Account. When I look at the Bills to be Paid, the credit is no longer there, now I’m seeing an actual invoice for the deposit. However, under A/P for the vendor, its showing a zero balance but the credit and payment are still showing. How do I get the Invoice to offset the credit and no longer have anything showing under AP and outstanding invoices. Found Solution !!!I found the answer. You have to go Pay Bills and then select the bill but then Choose the Credits button that looks like it’s greyed out below the select bills to pay area. It brings up the credit and you can apply there. Then you can complete the pay bills area. Everything was cleared out after.
When creating an E-transfer from my bank, the customer's email was wrong. I corrected the mistake. The customer did not receive the funds, but the bank registered the payment. It is canceled now but the bank shows 2 payments made and 1 refund.
how can i make the pay bill
"I've already recorded it through a Bill, but this payment wasn't made by me through the bank — it was paid on my behalf by the head office. When I pay the bill, instead of selecting the bank, can I select the intercompany (related) company account?"
I would like to change the Service coding nothing else
I purchased a motor under warranty to get it shipped to my customer and then took the old motor out and filled out their paperwork and got refunded everything except for some shipping. How do I record the credit back onto the vendor or all I can do is go in as an expense and there’s no negative number and I don’t know where to put to add a credit.
to qb, you have made some changes where when i copy a bill to enter a new one, the system suddenly and out of the blue changes all the interface to that of an invoice. STOP

Long construction jobs — whether it's a custom home build, a commercial fit-out, or a multi-phase renovation — need a sensible billing rhythm to keep cash flowing without overcomplicating the invoicing. How do you structure your progress billing in QBO? Do you invoice at fixed percentage milestones (30/60/10% for example)? Do you bill monthly against actual costs incurred? Or do you tie invoices to specific project milestones like 'foundation complete' or 'lock-up'?Also curious: how do you communicate progress to your clients — do you use the QBO estimate summary on the invoice, or do you supplement it with a separate schedule of values?
My bank draft amount is higher than the final invoice amount (due to a shortage of product). Bank draft is for $77,100.61 whereas invoice totals $71,719.87 leaving a difference of $5,380.74. How do I "Pay the Bill" to make sure the payment matches the bank draft and bank statement?
can someone add a subcontractor in the workforce intuit
It looks like some vendors charge pst on an item.

If I have 5 cheques of the same amount to John Doe in the bank feed, QBO doesn't seem to be able to "see" the cheque information to match properly, in spite of the supposed benefits of AI. This is very clear identifying information; how do I improve this matching issue?
I can still search for a Payee and it appears in a list of all transactions related to it, but when I open up a past transaction, the Payee is no longer in that field. It's like the connection between QB and the database is corrupt...
One of the trickiest things in construction accounting is keeping costs cleanly separated across several active jobs at the same time — especially when the same crew, supplier, or piece of equipment is shared across projects. What's your biggest challenge here? Some things we hear often:- Costs getting tagged to the wrong job (or no job at all)- Subcontractor invoices that span more than one project- Shared equipment costs that are hard to split- Not realising a job is over budget until it's too lateHow do you handle it, and what could QBO do better to help?
Delete finished projects or move to where ?
How do I stop credits being applied when making payment to supplier?
