Hi,

We noticed that we need to close outlook and re-open it after sending 1 invoice through QB 2021 Pro and Outlook 2019, it used to work fine with Windows 10 and Office 2013.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi there, SamyBoyz.

The need to reopen Outlook after sending an invoice is likely due to a communication issue between QuickBooks Desktop and Outlook. This could stem from outdated software, incorrect settings, or compatibility issues, such as not meeting TLS 1.2 requirements. Essentially, QuickBooks may lose its connection to Outlook, necessitating a restart to restore the connection.

QuickBooks Desktop fully supports Microsoft Office 2019, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, as long as it is the locally installed version and not the web-based version.

To fix your issue, follow these steps:

  1. Close QuickBooks completely.
  2. Download the latest version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub (v1.6.0.5) and save it to a location you can easily find, like your desktop or Downloads folder.
  3. Open the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
  4. Once installed, double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your desktop to open it. If you can’t find the icon, search for QuickBooks Tool Hub in Windows and select the program.

Next, use the Tool Hub to run the TLS 1.2 tool.

Here's how:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, go to the Installation Issues tab.
  2. Click on the QuickBooks TLS 1.2 Tool at the bottom right corner.
  3. Select OK to open the TLS Tool and then agree to the EULA Agreement by clicking Yes.
  4. Select Run to start the tool.
  5. After the process is complete, click Exit and try using QuickBooks again.

If the issue persists, it might be related to QuickBooks and Outlook integration:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to the Edit > Preferences > Send Forms tab.
  2. Click on Microsoft Outlook and make sure it is selected as the default option.
  3. In Windows, go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps and confirm Outlook is set as the default email client.
  4. Go to the Control Panel > Programs and Features tab, click on Microsoft Office, and select Repair.

If there's anything else I can assist you with or clarify, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
