cant generate customer statements for email on Quickbooks pro 2024

QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 will not generate customer statements for email. Gives message no statements to generate, even though I can generate the statement for printing.

Good day, dhoward308. The "no statements to generate" message for emails often stems from missing preferred send methods. QuickBooks will only generate email statements for customers whose Preferred Delivery Method is set to E-mail, or specific filter settings that prevent the email batch from populating, even if printing works.

 

To set the preferred delivery method to email, go to the Customer Center, right-click a customer, select Edit Customer, and navigate to the Payment Settings tab to ensure Email is selected. Also, make sure you have the latest version of QuickBooks 2024 to improve performance. You can do this by going to the Help menu in the top right and selecting Update QuickBooks Desktop.

 

When creating statements, ensure that the Statement Date is current to capture all open transactions. If generating statements for a specific period, make sure the From and To date range is sufficient to include all activity.

 

If the error persists, there might be a problem with the program's PDF or email-handling service. You can use the Install Diagnostic Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix this. For the best results, we recommend using this tool on a 64-bit version of Windows 11. When you're ready, here's how to install the software:

 

1. Close QuickBooks.

2. Download the latest version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.

3. Open the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).

4. Follow the steps shown on the screen to install it, and agree to the terms and conditions.

5. Once the installation is complete, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the Tool Hub.

 

After that, follow these steps to use the diagnostic utility:

 

  1. Open the QB Tool Hub.
  2. Select Installation Issues.
  3. Select the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  4. When the tool finishes, restart your computer.

 

Once done, set up your email service in QuickBooks Desktop again, and you should be able to generate a statement and send it to your customer.
