We appreciate you reaching out to the QuickBooks Community, niagaraschoolofm. We understand that credit card charges were accidentally entered as credits instead of expenses. The good news is that you can easily correct this directly in your account register.

Here’s how to fix the transactions:

  1. From the left menu, go to Accounting and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate your credit card account and click the dropdown beside Account history.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Update the Account Type from Credit to Expense using the dropdown menu.
  5. Ensure the correct expense category is selected, then click Save.

These steps will adjust the amounts to the correct side of your credit card account without altering the transaction history. Once all changes are made, your credit card balance should display the accurate amount.

If you have any questions or encounter any challenges while making these updates, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to assist!
