Hi, Barb.

Please know that there isn’t a direct way to backdate the creation date of an account in the Chart of Accounts. QuickBooks Online automatically logs the actual creation date and does not allow you to change it. Only QuickBooks internally tracks the creation date of an account, and this information is not visible to users.

Another way is to use the "As of Date" when entering the opening balance during account setup, or check the first date of the transaction in the account history entered on the account to determine when the account was created or used.

Here's how to do it:

1. When you create a new account, fill in the required details.
2. Enter the opening balance and select an As of Date.
3. Click Save. You can then open the account to check the "As of Date" and see when the account creation began.
4. Alternatively, click the Account History dropdown, locate the first transaction made under the account, and check the date to see when it was created.
