Hello hardy-electric,

Welcome to the QuickBooks community page. Recording your transactions accurately is important for managing your business. The good news is that when recording a new transaction in QuickBooks Online, the date will automatically default to the current day. You can enter your financial operations by following these steps:

  1. Select the Plus icon (+) on the top right corner
  2. Select the transaction type you wish to record (Invoice, Sales Receipt, Expense, Cheque, Bill, etc.)
  3. Fill out the form with the relevant details
  4. Select Save and close

If the default date is different than the current day, I suggest you clear your browsers cache and cookies by following the steps in this community article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Help-Articles/How-do-I-clear-my-browser-cache-and-temporary-Internet-files/m-p/262397. This process can resolve most sites loading and display issues. If you still continue to have the wrong date, call our phone support team at 1-855-253-1536 for further troubleshooting. Our agents are available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
