Question

I have auto payroll turned on. I noticed that Quickbooks auto payroll is paying our employees on Monday instead of Friday but past the cutoff. What do I do?

I noticed this issue at 5:30pm on Wednesday when I noticed payment did not leave my account. The cutoff was 5pm, but I noticed at 5:30pm. I need to manually provide all employees payment on the Friday but Quickbooks will automatically pay them again on Monday. What are my options?

Hello, tammy133,

When processing payroll, QuickBooks Online (QBO) relies on the direct deposit lead time. Based on the information you provided, it appears your account uses a 2-day lead time model.

Since you're using Auto Payroll and QuickBooks process your payroll beyond 5pm cutoff, I recommend contacting our Live Support Team for assistance. They can securely access your account, investigate the issue, and determine why your employees are scheduled to be paid on Monday instead of Friday.

Here’s how you can reach them:

  1. Visit this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-ca/contact.
  2. Select your software and version.
  3. Enter your question, then click Continue.
  4. Log in using your credentials.
  5. Review your personal information, then choose Get a chat.

If you have further questions about running payroll, feel free to reach out.
