Each browser has settings to manage pop-ups and redirects. To only allow pop-ups from QuickBooks Online (QBO), adjust your browser settings accordingly. This will block pop-ups from other sites while permitting those from QBO.
Here are the steps to block the pop-ups for Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari:
For Chrome:
Go to Settings, select Privacy and Security.
Choose Site Settings, and open Pop-ups and redirects.
Set QuickBooks to Block to prevent pop-ups related to promotions.
For MS Edge:
On your MS Edge, click the Three-Dot Menu in the top-right corner.
Select Settings.
Go to Cookies and site permissions.
Click Pop-ups and redirects, then toggle the setting to Block and add QuickBooks Online to the blocked sites list.
For Mozilla:
Click Tools in the menu bar.
Select Settings.
Click Privacy and Security located on the left side.
Select Block Pop-up windows below the Permission section.
Click OK.
Exit and relaunch the browser.
For Safari:
Click Safari in the top-left menu bar and select Preferences.
Navigate to the Websites tab.
Select Pop-up Windows under the left-hand column.
Set the dropdown next to QuickBooks Online to either BlockorBlock and Notify.
Also, you can use a browser with Built-in Ad Blockers and Web Extensions that prevent ads from appearing.
