Question

I sold my business to an employee who is comfortable with quickbooks... how can I keep all the customers/suppliers in for him while ending my company?

Hello there, Grandenauto.

You can keep all customer and supplier lists for the new owner and export them from your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. I'll walk you through the process.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and in the TOOLS column, select Export data.
  2. On the List tab, turn on the switch for Customers and Suppliers, and turn off the switch for Employees.

  3. Click Export to Excel.
  4. Select OK to make sure that it’s done.

By exporting the customer's and suppliers' list, your employee can then import it into their new QBO company file.

After the new owner finalizes the transfer of the list, you can proceed to close your books and cancel your subscription.
