I want to restrict import data to this year only. I have zero interest in importing data from last year

When it comes to importing your data, QuickBooks allows you to custom select a date range for the data you'd like to import into QBO. I encourage you to check out the following article as it shows you how to: Import Data into QuickBooks Online. Make sure to only import the date ranges you'd like to import, QuickBooks will add only that data and the dates associated with the data.
