is anybody having trouble with every single XML file for T4's downloaded from QBO?

Hello there, Michelle. I understand how challenging it can be. The error you're encountering indicates that the XML transmittal record is missing mandatory fields or contains empty fields. The CRA has recently tightened its validation requirements. If you're filing as a representative, you must include a 7-character Representative Identifier (RepID) that's different from the Business Number. Without it, the CRA will reject the file.

To add RepID in your QBO, here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
2. Go to Federal Tax.
3. Click View/Edit next to the Business Number field and complete authentication.
4. Enter your 7-digit RepID in the designated field.
5. Click Save.
