Question

Is QuickBooks losing bank feed connections when clients reset passwords due to suspicious login alerts from bank more often, and what steps resolve this problem?

Clients are saying they are receiving suspicious login alerts from bank indicating someone's trying to log in into their account, so it's asking to change the log in passwords but whenever they change the passwords the bank feeds get disconnected.

Hi, Akshata. Changing your bank password will not disconnect the bank feed connection with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

However, since you've changed your bank credentials, you'll also have to update these in QBO to ensure a seamless connection.

You can click the Edit sign-in info button to change this information.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the All apps tab and select Accounting.
  2. Choose Bank transactions.
  3. Select the tile for the bank account.
  4. Click the Pencil icon next to the bank name, then choose Edit sign-in info.
  5. Enter your updated bank password.
  6. Hit Save and Connect.

It's essential to ensure that your bank information is accurate in QuickBooks to avoid interruptions when downloading bank transactions and reconciling accounts.

I'm here if you have more questions. Please let me know in the comment section, and I'd be happy to assist you.
