Hello, Carmen. It would be a pleasure to assist you today.
In QuickBooks, there is no direct way to migrate from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop. Therefore, the effective method is to export your lists and opening balances, then manually enter your starting transactions.
Go to the (Gear icon at the top right) and choose Export data under the Tools column.
On the Reports tab, choose the desired date range for the reports you want to save as records (e.g., Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance).
Next, to the Lists tab, ensure the switch is On for the data you want to export, such as the Chart of Accounts, Customers, and Vendors.
Then, select Export to Excel. A zip file containing all your selected reports and lists in Excel format will download. Be sure to save this file as your permanent record of historical transactions and balances before proceeding.
After obtaining the necessary information in Excel, you can import the data into QuickBooks Desktop. There are various methods to accomplish this, so I suggest reviewing the steps outlined in the article: Import or export MS Excel files.
