Mileage tracking is not working. It looks like the trip is recording in the app, but the data does not show up in QuickBooks. Has this happened to anyone else?

The person tracking mileage does have admin access, as I saw this could be a potential issue.

If you're on an iOS device, follow these steps:

Open your Settings, then tap General.
Tap iPhone Storage. Choose the QuickBooks Online app.
Click Offload App.

If you're using Android, here's how:

Proceed to the Home menu or tap the three dots in the upper right corner.
Tap on Settings, then select Refresh Data.
Press Yes.

After completing these steps, restart your device and log back into the app to check if it is working as expected. If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to ensure you are using the most up-to-date version.

Thanks! Just to clarify; the person logging the mileage is not me, it’s another owner. I am trying to review the mileage for the vehicle on the QuickBooks online dashboard and am seeing none of the trips that appear in the other owner’s app. Would that make a difference?

That's a very helpful clarification, @nicole148. As another owner is recording the mileage, and you're trying to review it in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) dashboard, it is best to check if the owner categorized the trips in the application.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), mileage tracking is user-specific to protect privacy. Because the app tracks all movement to catch potential trips, the software keeps those Unreviewed trips private to the person who actually records the mileage.

If the other owner hasn't categorized those trips as Business or Personal yet, the data will stay on their device and won't sync to your view of the company dashboard. You can have the other owner open their mobile application and check if there are unreviewed trips waiting to be categorized.

Here’s how to categorize your mileage on Android and iOS devices:

Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
Select the menu ☰ icon and then Mileage.
Choose the Unreviewed tab.
Find the trip. Swipe left to categorize the trip as Business. Or swipe right to categorize it as Personal.
Add a purpose for the trip.
Pick the vehicle you used.
Hit Save.
