Possible Fraud

I received a vm yesterday that my QB account was going to be suspended and to call [removed].

When I called this number I heard the usual official QB welcome etc and was placed in a queue and advised that my call would be answered in xx# of minutes.  When it was answered I explained that I was contacted and advised my account was in process of being suspended and I did not understand why given that I am on a monthly subscription.  I have a desktop QB Premier 2023 Non Profit Version with 2 Licenses.  My monthly subscription is $ 124.30    I only use the one license.

This person said it was no longer being supported and was being discontinued in 2 days.

That I had not choice but to choose another product ~ however ~ he could upgrade me to a 2024 version for a one time fee.  Either a 3 yr contract of $ 2200 or a 5 yr contract of $ 3500.00 for one license.  I had to make my mind up within 2 days ~ however he would give me a week since I had to discuss it with the NFP.

There were 'flags'.

My wait time on the line was 1 minute.

My call got dropped twice and each time I called back, it was a 1 minute wait ~ and I got the same person.

 

Is this an elaborate scam??  

 

Or has QB stopped supporting my version that I used for our Non Profit Lions Club organization.

To begin, please note that QuickBooks does not suspend accounts or pressure customers into making immediate upgrades or decisions about their subscriptions. Any official updates or changes to our products are communicated directly to the account holder’s registered email address and shared publicly on our official platforms. 

 

Additionally, the pricing and terms mentioned during your phone call, such as a one-time payment for three or five years of service, do not align with our official pricing model. QuickBooks operates entirely on a subscription basis, which provides customers with access to regular updates, new features, and ongoing support.

 

Regarding your concerns about product discontinuation, QuickBooks Desktop 2023 will continue to be supported through May 31, 2026. As long as your account remains active, you can use your program without interruption.

 

Furthermore, eligible customers with an active subscription can upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2024 at no additional cost.
