Question

Why am I not able to import the QBO data for a client who has stopped his subscription. I see the data but can not import to CaseWare.

Do they have to keep the subscription open until we finish the year end?

Hi annette-jacobs,

Thanks for connecting with us here. QuickBooks is a versatile program that enables you to get your work done faster. I'll be happy to share more info so you're on the right direction.

While you can access a QBO subscription while it's cancelled, it's important to note that it's only read-only access. This means you can view your data but you can not make entries or changes including the one you've described until the subscription is active. Here's a helpful article that shows you how to: Resubscribe to or reactivate QuickBooks Online

Let me know if you have questions. I'll be a message away in case you need anything else.

This is related but with regards to QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions.

With Intuit's price increase on Desktop to push everyone to the online version, I think it is disappointing that as an Accountant I have to have a QBDT subscription to be able to use the CaseWare QuickBooks Export utility when a client is still on Desktop.

Sage 50 provides a utility to import into CaseWare without the need for a Sage subscription.  I would appreciate it if the same was available to accountants.
