Why do I get charged a fee for a client to send a bank transfer for payment?

What is this fee paying for? It’s a free transfer of funds for all parties. Seems like stealing to me.

QuickBooks Online Payments charges a bank payment fee per transactions, Walingafitness. Let's discuss this further.

 

Upon receiving a bank payment from your client, your bank will charge a fee of either 1% of the payment amount or up to $100, which will be deducted from your account. For more information about transaction fees and other charges, please refer to the article: Bank Payments Fees in QuickBooks Online Payments.

 

Furthermore, if you want to charge your client for the bank transfer, you can manually add service fees to their invoices.

This “fee” only applies when a client pays through QuickBooks links. If a client pays via e-transfer directly to us our bank does not charge a fee. This “bank fee” is a QuickBooks fee. Where is this money going to? Why is it being charged? It has nothing to do with banks.
