Question

Why is GST not being added to my invoices and I cannot find an option to add it manually?

The QuickBooks app always included GST or gave me the option for taxes. Recently it is no longer there and there is no place to add GST

Start by checking if you’re using the latest version of the app. Visit the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android) to see if there are any updates available. Updating to the latest version helps resolve performance-related issues.

 

If updating doesn’t fix the issue, try refreshing the app data to clear temporary glitches. Follow these steps based on your device:

 

  • For iOS:
    1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
    2. Tap iPhone Storage, then tap the QuickBooks Online app.
    3. Tap Offload App.
    4. This will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

 

  • For Android:
    1. Go to Menu ☰, then tap More Options ⋮.
    2. Tap Settings, then Refresh Data.
    3. Tap YES to confirm.

 

If this doesn’t resolve it, uninstall and reinstall the app. As an alternative, you can also sign in to your QuickBooks Online account through your mobile browser to create invoices with the GST option.

I have done everything on my Android phone including installed new software and removed the app and reinstalled it and it still hasn't changed. Normally I would see the GST added in the subtotal amounts. It only shows me either the hours, flat rate, etc. I've gone into every menu option trying to find if there is a check box I need to turn on but I can find nothing of the sort. Still trying to figure out what's wrong
