Question

Do i need a seperate venmo account for my clients to use their Venmo account to pay me?

I've enabled the Venmo/PayPal option in my invoices, However, my client says she is experiencing issues with making the payment using the Venmo option.  When she tries to input her shipping address she receives an error message stating "something has gone wrong".  The AI Chat Bot stated I do not need a separate Venmo account and offers to help me enable it. Even though I know it has been enabled I opted in.  But then the Bot goes on the state that it cannot be done.  What am I missing here?

Thanks

No, you do not need a separate Venmo account as the AI chatbot initially suggested. However, because it recommended enabling a feature that was already active, it is a good idea to double-check your settings.

Ensure your QuickBooks Payments account is active and that the PayPal/Venmo option is properly enabled. Once this is set up on a QuickBooks Online invoice, your client should be able to pay using their own Venmo account.

The error your client is encountering may be a technical issue on PayPal/Venmo's side, or an invoice setup conflict caused by the address formatting in the client's Venmo app. To fix this, ask the client to manually type their shipping address during checkout without using any special characters.

Alternatively, since the error message provides no further instructions, your client can right-click the Review and pay link in the original invoice email, copy the URL, and paste it directly into their browser's address bar.

If the problem persists, they can try logging out and back in to clear any temporary glitches or contact Venmo support for further assistance.

Feel free to let me know in the comments if there's anything else I can assist you with.
