Currently I have a fuel surcharge + and a fuel deduction - on my invoices. I have both the surcharge and the expense linked to the expense account to offset each other and am thinking that I should in fact be accounting the surcharge to a revenue account and keep the deduction to an expense account. Please advise what revenue account I would do this and how this affects my P&L and Balance Sheets.
Last year at year end we did a General Journal Entry and Credited - Allowance for Doubtful Account for the total amount a customer owed us in unpaid invoices - we Debited - Bad Debts and GST. To note: The invoices themselves still show up on my reminders as overdue, yet if I look at the customer as a whole - it says they owe "0" most likely because of the General Journal Entry. Am I correct in thinking this is not a write off? Assuming that General Journal Entry is not a write off, I would like to write it off this year before year end which is the end of this month. Taking note of my previous General Journal Entry, what is the proper way to do this that will not negatively effect my year end reports and also get rid of the invoices in my reminders. Do I do another journal entry? and if so, what would it be? After that though, I'm sure the invoices will still show up in my reminders because the journal entry will not effect that. I ap
Is anyone else disappointed with Online Advanced?Bill Pay - not available in CanadaEmployee Expenses - not available in CanadaWhile the bill approval process looked promising, it is terribly restrictive and does not meet our needs at all. My client has 3 people each responsible for approving bills from blocks of suppliers/vendors. I can only set up one bill approval workflow/rule and if I choose approval by vendor, I can only select a single vendor. All of the information my client and I read and the videos we watched about the features were accessed via the Canadian Website - if a feature is not available in Canada, that should be made clear. My client has asked me to search out new software.
First, I feel it is very frustrating that nowhere on the internet explains how to enter a car lease in Quick book ...and I mean a step by step instruction. I am in Ontario Canada.I have a car lease from Honda. The lease is for 3.5 years at which time I can walk away from the lease or buy it out. After an exhausting search...I think this is an operating lease. Is it?Could someone please let me know what I need to enter in the chart of accounts.I do not pay expense directly out of my business account. I pay them from my personal account and make a General Ledger adjustment at the end of each month.I am guessing that I could create an Expense account (need instruction what I do when I hit continue). and the create a Vehicle lease account as a sub account(again what do I put when I click continue)Then I can just write a cheques payable to the Honda company and put that towards the Vehicle lease with the HST.Please help as there is no help anywhere online and I'm not reinventing
Is this feature available yet, and how do I set that up?

Hello all, Seeking some help here. Sorry if this is long but wanted to provide all the details in the hopes that someone will come to my rescue... Although our company makes its GST/PST payments on time, there are many receipts that are found later and thus entered in a tax period that has already been filed. At the time of the bank reconciliation, the report is run again and of course because of the subsequent posting of receipts, the report does not balance with the original report. For example, the original report for the period of Jan. - March 2021 read that the taxes owing were $3481.00. However when I reran the report again to post the payment when doing the bank reconciliation, that amount due had now dropped down to $3198.16. The same thing happened for the subsequent period of April 1 - June 30, 2021. Original report read $3683.37 but the subsequent report read the taxes due were now $3423.80. I am now at the point whereby
Last year we had a customer who was not paying us. So we did a General Journal for that customer account and Debited Allowance for doubtful accounts, credited the GST and credited bad debts. This year before our year end I'm going to write it off. I have 2 questions. 1) Would I Credit the Customer allowance for doubtful accounts and then debit the GST and Bad Debt accounts.2) The customer total is at 0 but on "reminders" all their invoices are there showing not paid and if I go to the actually invoices they say "past due" which is why they show up in "reminders" Can anyone give me some guidance on these issues? Thanks

I accidentally imported a client into my accountant account instead of as a client. I have since added them as a client but I need to delete all their files out of my accountant account. Is there an easy way to do this????
I have in my bank statements every month a single line of collected pre autorized debit from multiple customers. Each customer is part of the Account Receivable account, I need to split that single line and associate the specific amount each customer paid within that single bank transaction. It can be done manually but is impossible when its hunders of customers. So I would like to exclude that line and import a journal entry, I've downloaded the template to import journal entries but I only see an ACCOUNT NAME field, how can I also import the Payee (customer) name? the result should be that when I access the customer account I will see the amount credited in his account. Thanks!
getting error - Multiple memos found for the following journal entries. Go back to your CSV file and correct the info before trying again.
Hi There, I have QBO Advanced and make use of the Projects feature. I can't seem to find a Permission that would allow a custom role to create/edit a Project. Does this exist? Or is the only way to allow a user the ability to create projects to give them access to everything as a "standard user"
