I have got a monthly profit and loss account. It shows full details of all expenses - they are broken down by category. However, I cannot work out how to break down the income by category - I have 5 different categories of services that I provide and I want to easily see how each one is doing.

Hello I want to produce a Project report that includes custom fields (Project Number, Budget). I want to export to ExcelHow on earth can I do this? Hello When running the Sales by Customer Summary report, the amounts do not match the P&L revenue totals. This seems to be because the report is including journals such as exchange gain/loss journals the system automatically produces when receiving foreign currency transactions. These should not be included in this report as they are not 'sale' transactions. How can I get a sales report by customer that would match the actual P&L revenue figure for the month? To me this seems a defect in this report that needs fixing. It doesn't work the same way the Sales by Customer Summary report did in Desktop (surprise surprise), which always matched the P&L revenue figure.

I'm struggling with QBSE. I want to add my accountant, there are online instructions, but the menus do not match those in my application. There's no option to add another user. What's going on?

Hi all, I am in a dispute over some overdue invoices and need to check the date that the invoices were sent out from the system (Quickbooks for Self-Employed). I have a 60 day payment term from the date the invoice is provided to a client, so the manually entered "invoice date" and "due date" are irrelevant - I need evidence that 60 days has passed since the invoices were actually emailed out, but I can't see any way to audit this. Help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
We're looking for a solution that lets us view our old QuickBooks Desktop accounts in perpetuity after June 2023, when Quickbooks is discontinuing its Desktop product. QB Support tells me that our Desktop app will not start and instead show an error message after 30th June. They offered their Export tool, but that will only last for 7 years and we will need to access our old accounts with no time limit. We migrated our day-to-day accounts off QB Desktop to Xero in 2020, so we don't need an ongoing solution. We just need a permanent means of viewing our old accounts from time to time. Does anyone know of a solution to this? Ideally, we would want a permanent licence to the latest version of QB Desktop in read-only mode. We of course acknowledge that QB would not be obliged to provide ongoing support.
Currently I think you have to go to Reports, Trial Balance, then scroll up to the options, click the pulldown "Report period" menu, find "Last Financial Year", then click "Run Report".Personally I use this as a gateway to access breakdowns of individual nominal accounts for that period. So a shortcut would be a real time saver.
I'm trying to file micro accounts and have run a report for the year but it's showing a negative Current Assets amount because expense transactions are all listed as cash on hand in the Assets section. The amounts are all categorised as Expenses, have negative amounts and are paid from Cash in hand and in Bank. My filing is now overdue so any help would be much appreciated. Mike

Hello All , this feature used to work , but its broken , just nothing happens when clicking he sort by and then name or memo button its always sorted by date .. this is way over a year now , and we cant work like that . only way it to export to a spreadhseet and reformat in order to sort by different columns we need help urgently
I've recently made a minor change to my chart of accounts but this is not being reflected in the new annual accounts (under Workpapers section). The change is showing in the normal balance sheet reports but not in the annual accounts that I want to submit to HMRC. Is there a way to refresh these accounts so they pick up the change and categorise the cost correctly?Thanks
Having put in the dates (the last 6 months) and selected Weekly, QBO defaults their Week to be the US norm of Sunday to Saturday which confuses the results. I can't see anywhere that I can change this to the more normal UK version of the week. Any help would be appreciated.
