Adding payroll to a Sole Trader subscription isn't possible, Sara.

 

Payroll services are available only with QuickBooks Online (QBO) plans starting from Simple Start and above.

 

To add this functionality, you'll need to upgrade to a QBO plan, such as QBO Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced, depending on your business size and needs.

 

Also, please note that once you upgrade from the Sole Trader subscription, you can't downgrade back to this product.

 

After upgrading, follow the steps below to add payroll to your account:

 

  1. Select the Payroll menu.

  2. Click the Choose your plan button.

  3. Select a payroll plan that best fits your business requirements.
