A client tried to pay us online via Paypal using Intuit Quickbooks. Their Mastercard (registered in the US) was not accepted. They received a message to contact the seller. Any advice?

I’d like to share some helpful information about handling international transactions, UBQ-PGR.

When you integrate the PayPal app with QuickBooks Online's Accept Card Payments feature, you can securely send invoices with a “Pay Now” button. This enables customers to make payments using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or their PayPal wallet.

Since your client's PayPal card was declined, here are possible reasons why:

  • The information they entered may not match the details their card issuer has on file.
  • The payment amount may exceed the limit set by the card issuer.

If all the information provided is correct and the card is still declined, I recommend advising your client to contact PayPal directly for assistance.

Feel free to reply here if you have any additional questions about processing your client’s payments.

If you are running a service company, consider having a proposal management app to sync with QBO and accept international credit cards.
