I have QB Online and no longer need QB Enterprise Desktop.  But I occasionally have to access my Desktop version for reports.  After cancelling the Desktop can I still go in and access information if needed?

Yes, NancyF55. You'll have view-only access for a year after your subscription ends to view reports and export them.

View-only access mode allows users to view and interact with information without the ability to make changes. It is advisable to export your data before canceling your subscription.

Please know the restrictions while you work in View-only mode:

  • You won’t be able to access 3rd party apps.
  • You won’t be able to edit your data with your inactive license.
  • Only company file admins can access view-only mode.
  • View-only access is only available for Pro Plus, Premier Plus, and Enterprise. ( Note: QuickBooks Point of Sales and QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus don’t have view-only access.)
  • View-only mode might not work in multi-user mode. To access your data, switch to single-user mode before you cancel your subscription.
  • If you’re on Intuit Cloud Access/Hosting with Right works, view-only mode won’t work.
  • This applies only to QuickBooks Desktop licenses already installed on your computer. View-only mode won’t work in case of reinstallation.

Please refer to this article for detailed information about cancellation policies: QuickBooks Desktop cancelation policies.

How do I access the view only mode after canceling QB Enterprise? I am in single user mode but I cannot log in.

After your subscription ends, you'll automatically have view-only access for one year. Could you please let me know why you're unable to log in? Are you encountering any error messages or codes?

If your issue is related to your login credentials or you have forgotten your password, you can reset it to regain access to your company file.

If your situation is different, please feel free to revisit this thread. I look forward to hearing from you.

@Karen5415 You can use the trial version to access your historical data for good.
