Why can’t I get the option to add my accountant?

Allow me to help ensure you can add the accountant to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account. We’ll have to run some basic troubleshooting steps to rectify the issue.


Let’s start by opening QBSE using a private or incognito window. This is to check if this issue is caused by the browser’s stored data. Then invite your accountant from there.

 

  • Press the Ctrl + Shift + N  for Google Chrome.
  • Press the Ctrl + Shift + N for Microsoft Edge.
  • Press the Ctrl + Shift + P for Firefox.
  • Press Control + Option + P for Safari.

 

If this works in private browsing, clear the cache of your regular browser to start fresh. The process ensures optimal performance of the application. If you get the same result, utilize a supported browser. This will help identify if the issue is the one you’re using.
