Question

Can QBO move all the information from one account to another account of the same company? It's just because we can't change the admin email on the old account

We're using QBO Canada. The admin email on our current account is wrong and can't be updated, so we'd like to move all historical transactions and data to a new account with the correct admin email, if possible

While there isn't a direct way to do this, the good news is that you don't need to create a new account. You can update your email address by changing the primary admin or completing an account claim.

If you can still log in using the current primary admin profile, you can transfer the role by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Manage users.
  2. Find or click Add User to add them as a new user.
  3. In the Role column, make sure they are listed as Company admin. If not, select Edit from the Action column to change their role to admin.
  4. Once done, choose the dropdown from the Action column, then select Make primary admin.

I'll be adding this reference for your guidance: Change the primary admin role.

If you no longer have access to the email address on file to log in, you will need to submit an email change request to our account protection team with a form of ID and some business documentation.
