Can anybody point me in the right direction to set up a 'Test Environment'?

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community, @sherri-knightsse. Allow me to help you set up a test account in QuickBooks Online.

Creating a test account is a way to navigate and learn things in QBO. With it, you'll be able to replicate processes.

To begin, here are the few simple steps:

1.  Go to this link https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/
2.  Select the country you want to set up.
3. Click See all plans and select Free trial for 30 days.
4.  Select the  subscription you want and then click Try it free.
5. If you want to add a payroll subscription to your test account, click Add to trial.
6.  Once done, proceed to check out. (Don't worry about the bill since this is only a free trial account)
   
   

Additionally, after following those steps you'll be routed to create an Intuit account page. If you don't have an existing account, you can enter your email address and mobile number then enter a password.

      7. Lastly, you can now set up your company.
