Can I transfer expired quickbooks desktop to quickbooks online?

You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise to open your file and convert it to QB Online. Another option, use the trial version to access your archive file for good and start from scratch in QB online.

You're unable to transfer data from an expired QuickBooks Desktop account to QuickBooks Online, rtemple. I can provide methods to move them between the two products.

After the reactivation, create a backup file to safeguard your accounting information and help prevent data loss. It will serve as your copy for future use and help restore data if you encounter issues. Follow these steps after signing in as an admin to QuickBooks Desktop Pro or Premier:

1. At the top menu, go to the Company and select Export Your Company File to QuickBooks Online.
2. Click on Get Started.
3. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
4. Determine the company you want to replace with your company file after selecting Choose an online company.
5. Click Continue.
6. If you track inventory in QuickBooks Desktop, choose Yes to bring them over, then enter the as-of-date. If not, select No if you want to set up new items later in QBO.
7. Enter Agree in the text field, then select Replace.
8. Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace
