Question

Disconnecting accountant

Quickbooks help is useless.  I need some help.  I pay for my subscription yet I can't disconnect my accountant because it states that my accountant pays.  Of course, there is NO way to contact QB that is easy and I can't seem to find a phone number.  AI can tell me all sort of random junk and to call tomorrow, but won't give me a number.  ANYONE?

Who is the Primay Admin? You or your accountant?

Hi, WA151. I understand how upsetting it is to feel stuck, especially after paying for your subscription but being unable to manage your account.

You're unable to disconnect your accountant even though you're the primary admin because the accountant has another linked subscription and handles the payment or you're on wholesale billing. Contact your accountant to transfer the account access to you. Tell them that you'd like to transfer the billing of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription to your entire sales plan. Any changes or transfers must be handled directly through them.

If you're unable to reach your accountant, I recommend contacting our live support to override the accountant's wholesale billing lock and guide you through the next steps. Though I can't provide a direct phone number, but I can guide you on how to reach them.

Here's how:

  1. Head to the Help icon.
  2. In the Assistant tab, enter Talk to an expert.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern and follow the next prompts to proceed.

To find out our support availability hours, please refer to this article.: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please reply to this thread.

  • Once again, questions remain unanswered.  I asked what the phone number was, you came back with hours and "sorry can't provide", but a phone number does exist.
  • You are telling me there is a subscription, yet not how to visibly see the subscriptions that are the blocker.  I own the account and pay for it, yet am at the mercy of a terminated employee.
    • BTW, I am telling you there are no visible subscriptions and that I signed up for QB and I pay for this.
    • Are you saying that QB allows the owner to be usurped of their rights and ownership when they allow an accountant in?  That would seem like a dangerous model whereby a rogue accountant could ruin someone's books.  This would be counter to any IT security model with any company.  If Intuit were to terminate an employee, all IT access would be revoked, regardless of any circumstances, yet it would seem a very large risk/hole that Intuit has provided to their subscribers.
