I am using QuickBooks Online - How do I set up a recurring invoice on an invoice I'm sending today? I want to create an invoice that goes out today, then repeats yearly

I used the AI bot, and the instructions were not right, for there were commands that were not available.

Yes, selfdirect. By manually sending it today first, then create the recurring template for future invoices starting the following year.

QuickBooks Online doesn’t automatically allow recurring transactions to start and send on the same day due to how scheduling works in the system.

Once today’s invoice has been sent, follow these steps to create a recurring transaction template for yearly invoices:

  1. Click the Gear Icon⚙️ at the top right corner.
  2. Select Recurring Transactions under the Lists section.
  3. Click the New button to create a new template.
  4. Set the following:
    • Transaction Type: Invoice
    • Recurring Type: Scheduled
    • Interval: Yearly
    • Start Date: Tomorrow's date (the start date must be a day in the future, since QuickBooks does not allow same-day schedules).
    • End Date: Leave blank if the invoice should continue indefinitely.
  5. Add all the necessary details for the invoice, including the customer’s name, amount, product/service, etc.
  6. Click Save Template.

You'll need to enable the recurring invoice option to activate the annual transaction, selfdirect.

From the invoice entry you're sending today, go to the Scheduling tab and enable the Make Invoice Recurring option. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Enter a detail from the Template name.
  2. From the Create number of days in advance section, enter a specific days as to when the invoice will be created in your invoices list.
  3. Then, activate any of the Template options.
  4. Under Interval, choose the Start date, End, and Repeat.

Once done, the template created will appear on the Recurring Transactions page.

Do I send the invoice 1st, then set it to recurring?  When I just set it to recurring and start it the next day, it doesn't send it the next day. It doesn't give me the option to start the same day
