How do I Delete an account set up by error?

We have the option to make the account inactive in the Chart of accounts page.

Before we move forward, could you share which account you’re referring to? If it’s an account you accidentally created in the Chart of Accounts, please note that there’s currently no direct option to delete it.

That said, you do have the option to deactivate it. Once deactivated, the account will no longer appear in your reports, but it will remain visible in the Chart of Accounts.
 

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of accounts.
  3. Tick the box for the account you want to delete. Then, click the View register drop-down.
  4. Choose the Make inactive (won’t reduce usage).
  5. You’ll see a prompt to confirm to the deactivate the account.
  6. Select Yes, make inactive.
