Question

I'd like to deploy QBO App (Quickbooks AdvancedSetup.exe) through Intune. Are there any command line switches available to install/uninstall this app?

Currently, the QBO Advanced app can be downloaded through the Settings (Gear icon) in the upper-right corner, and select Get the desktop app, Shaun. I'll share some insights about this.

The app can only be downloaded through your QBO Advanced account to ensure the legitimacy and security of the installer file. You can checkout this article to know more about downloading and using the app: Download and use the QuickBooks Online desktop app.

We can let our developers know about your idea of collaborating with Intune so you can easily download and access the installer file. Let's send this feedback for product improvement by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to QBO account, and select the company file.
  2. Click the Settings (Gear icon) in the upper-right corner and select Feedback.
  3. Enter your idea, then select Next.

Meanwhile, we can uninstall the app through your device settings. The steps may differ from every device.

Once everything is settled, you can already continue managing your business through the app. The following links can be a help to get you going:

Are there any updates on this? We too have a need to deploy QuickBooks via MDM to simplify onboarding on corporate workstations. Microsoft Intune is widely used in the business world, especially among enterprise customers so this is very much relevant.

We appreciate your effort in reaching out to us with your concern. Deploying QuickBooks via Intune for corporate workstations is a common request; however, the QuickBooks Desktop and Online versions do not have built-in support for direct deployment via MDM Solutions like Intune.

At this moment, we don’t  have any updates yet to share with you on deploying the QBO app through Intune; however, you can still make some follow-up from time to time for us to soon provide you if there’s already any available updates.
