When you switch from annual (total) billing to a monthly payment schedule, you may need to wait until you have 30 days before your next payment. You can change your billing schedule manually as long as you're the account Admin.
If you're unable to do so, I'd suggest contacting our support team. They can help check your pending subscription amount and change your payment schedule.
You may also personalize QuickBooks Online to work the way you want it to. To achieve this, you can tweak some preferences on the Account and Settings page. Please read through this article for additional insights: Edit company settings.
