Thanks for sharing your concern in QuickBooks Community, @anita-anitaschmi.

Once you switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online, you'll have the option to select Bring my data during the process. This feature will help you move your data to QBO.

In case you've selected Start fresh, then you'll start with a brand new account.

You can still manually move your data to QuickBooks Online. I'll show you how to import your data and start your QuickBooks Online subscription.

Simply download your transactions in a CSV file and upload them into QBO. Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Self-Employed, click the Transactions menu.
  2. Select the transaction types, accounts, and time period you want to download from the dropdown menus.
  3. Click the download icon at the top of the transaction list.
  4. Save the file somewhere that's easy to find, like your Windows desktop.
  5. Select a category type to download from the drop-down menus.
  6. Enter notes, browse and upload a receipt.
  7. Click Save.

Select

Once done, sign in to QuickBooks Online and follow step 3 from If you don't see the Explore QuickBooks option in this article: How to move your QBSE data to QBO

Alternatively, you can use a third-party app like Transaction Pro and Excel Importer to import your QBSE data into QuickBooks Online.

Feel welcome to reach out to me again with any questions you may have and I would be more than happy to help. Thanks for dropping by, anita-anitaschmi.
