I'm a nonprofit. Why do donations show up as sales in reports?

I'm here to shed some light, tcfaulkner5.

For QuickBooks Online non-profit edition, donors are equivalent to customers. Donations are recorded as Sales Receipt after it is received. This is the reason why it show up as sales on your reports.

There are different ways to enter a donation. You can record it as a sales receipt, invoice, or a deposit.

Here's an article that provides more information about recording donations in QBI: How to Record Donations Received.

Meanwhile, you can also pull up the various reports that shows the transactions from donors like Sales by Customer Details or Transaction List by Customer.

Be sure to get back to me for more questions, Take care and have a wonderful day ahead!
