I'll help you change your phone number so you can verify your account and transfer funds as well, petesepoxy-gmail.

 

You can log in to your QuickBooks Payments account and update the information. Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Payments account.
  2. Select Account, then Account Profile.
  3. Click Contact Information, then choose Edit.
  4. Change your contact info and select Save.

 

Please take note that this only changes the information for the Merchant Services or Payments account. This site takes care of all online payment processing from your clients. You can follow these steps on how to update the details for the general Intuit account: 

 

  1. Log in to QBO and click the User icon in the upper-right corner. Then, select Manage your Intuit Account.
  2. Proceed to the Sign In & Security tab.
  3. Under the Phone section, tap the Verify link. Then, hit Change.
  4. Enter your new phone number, and then click Save.

I am trying to change the number for one of my employees for Quickbooks Online. They can't sign in with their old phone number.

I'm here to provide information on how to change your phone number, @Sborge2014.

 

You'll receive a verification code in your old or connected number to complete the update process. However, you mentioned that you no longer have the phone number, so you won't be able to receive the verification code.

To resolve this, you'll need to submit the account recovery form:

 

  1. Click account recovery form.
  2. Once an article opened, scroll down and select "I lost access to my phone or email address"
  3. From the ID Type dropdown, select the identification you'll use to process your request.
  4. From the Reason for request dropdown, choose the purpose of your request. 
  5. From the Personal info section, complete all details needed. 
  6. From the Sign in info section, type in all necessary information. 
  7. Click the arrow below to proceed with your request. 

 

We'll process your request within one business day. 


Meanwhile, if you plan to change your business or contact name, you may also update your information in your Intuit account for them to match.

Hello, I've called in 3 times today and have not been able to get the phone number associated with the merchant/payments account updated... having not access to the old number anymore to verify the change (that's a silly step - regardless). a) I would desperately like to know how to get htis done as it seems all of the platforms are not connected by phone number or 2FA... so the the account recovery was not a fix either. b) QB should get it up to speed quickly that heavier security like autenticator, passkeys, or biometrics are able to get you into any of your services in the event of lost passwords, phones, etc. Seems silly I'm spending DAYS getting this done. Hope someone can help. -- It seems the Payments/Merchant/Checking account all pull from the same phone numbers to verify... but again offer no other way to verify even though QBO has like 4 methods (scratches head). Thank you in advance, sorry to be grumpy just tired and an extreme waste of time on this. "I need to reset my phone number to get into my checking account - here's all the proof and I have 6 ways to sign in - 3 days later no checking account and can't update anything payments.
