Question

I want to simply find out what I spend on credit cards in a calendar year. So a report that filters out the credit card payments but not the credit card credits

I'll be happy to walk you through the steps.

 

You can run the Transaction Detail by Account. Then, customize the report to only show the credit card accounts and payments.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Reports on the left panel.
  2. Type Transaction Detail by Account in the search field.
  3. Set the Report period and click the Customize button.
  4. Go to the Filter section and select Credit Card Payment from the Transaction Type drop-down menu.
  5. Select the credit card accounts from the Account drop-down list.
  6. Click Run report.
