I have just installed QB 2020 and while restoring my Company File I was asked for a a User Name and password.  User Name was Admin so I left it as is, I made a password and logged out and when I tried to log in again I had a continuing error on my password.  My password is correct the problem is it is showing a User Name other that Admin so how do I change that.  Usually there is a link for forgot my User Name, there is not.  How can I get in?

Thanks

I'm here to help you access your account back again, @Oleg6.

We available tools that can be used in resetting your password and regain access to your account. Let's first sort it out by following the steps below. Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop on your computer. Then, click the I forgot my password link at the login window
  2. Fill out the needed information. One of these is the license number. You can press F2 from the login window to see your license number.
  3. The NameEmail Address, Phone Number, and ZIP code you originally used when you purchased the product. You can log in to CAMPS to find all these requirements.
  4. Once everything is done, click OK. You'll receive a code at the email address you registered in QuickBooks.
  5. Afterward, get the code from your email and enter it in book. It'll guide us through the process of creating the new password.

Aside from that, you can also use the Automated Password Reset Tool for QuickBooks Desktop. In this process, we will need to go to this link and download the version of the product that you're using. For the detailed steps and information on how to do it, please consider checking this article: Accessing your company file by using the Automated Password Reset Tool for QBDT.

Please keep me posted on how it goes. I want to make sure that you're good to go after following those steps. I hope you're well and safe!

First option is " Open quick books desktop".

That is the problem.    I am locked out.

It has be confirm the email then goes to a circling dots loop.

I have used this, reloaded the program, and check for updates to the desktop.

This is a recurring thing and a major hold up.

Please provide a solution.

Thanks Jeff

In trying to open my desktop 2020 Pro, I get an apology from QuickBooks for not allowing access to the program and asking what I was trying to do when the problem occurred so its team can fix it.  It doesn’t matter how many times the message is responded to, nothing gets fixed.  In effect, denial of service.

@louisholder44 Try to reinstall your QB 2020 program. If the same problem persist, install the trial version of QB 2021 to isolate the problem.
