Question

Please confirm if there is any option for auto-backup and what should be the ideal frequency to run the back-ups and also suggest how to take full back-ups?

Yes, Geetika. There's an option to turn on auto backup in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced.

It runs in real-time, capturing every change you make, so there is no need to set or manage a backup schedule. As for full backups, they are not necessary because once the Online Backup and Restore feature is enabled, all modifications to your company data are continuously and automatically protected.

Here's how to turn it on:

  1. Click the Gear icon,  then select Accounts and Settings.

  2. Go to the Advanced tab, then click Backup.

  3. Click the pencil icon and toggle on Turn on backups.
  4. Select Save, then Done.

You can check out this article to learn more about what data you can and can't back up, along with further details about this process: Back up and restore.
