Question

QuickBooks Online keeps asking me to verify my identity every login

Hi Everyone,

Every time I log in to QuickBooks Online, it keeps asking me to verify my identity with a code, even though I’ve selected “Trust this device.”

It’s happening on the same computer and browser I always use, with cookies and cache already allowed.

It’s starting to get annoying is this a security setting I can change, or is something resetting the trust every time?

Thanks!

We can turn off your Two-Step Verification in your intuit account, Rovmen.

Two-Step Verification is an optional security feature that enhances account safety. When enabled, it requires a one-time passcode in addition to your password whenever you sign in from any device. This extra step verifies your identity and protects against unauthorized access, ensuring that your sensitive information remains secure.

To turn off Two-Step Verification, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click on your Profile icon located in the upper right corner.
  3. Select Sign In & Security from the menu.
  4. Click on 2-Step Verification.
  5. Then toggle it to turn off the Use 2-Step Verification switch.
  6. Enter your account password and click Continue.

You will receive a confirmation message indicating that Two-Step Verification has been disabled, as well as an email confirming your updated security settings.

Please note that if you disable this feature, we'll still require verification the first time you log-in on an unrecognized device.
