Let me provide you a few information about tips in QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), michael-fishandf.
Paycheck tips are gratuities that are paid to the employee on their paycheck. Ideally, tips are not subject to federal payroll taxes unless they exceed $20 per month. If it exceeds $20, we withhold federal taxes on the first $20 as well as on the tip amount above $20. Although we don't have a standard percentage for credit card tips, I recommend reaching out to your accountant if you find it a little bit complex when calculating tips in payroll. For more information, I've got this article that you can go over: About tips and paychecks.
Also, to record tips, you'll have to create a Gratuity/Tips liability account. You can follow the steps in this article: How to Record Tips and Gratuities in QuickBooks. To view useful information about your business and employees, access the payroll reports to get the information: Run payroll reports.
Keep in touch if you have any concerns about payroll. I'll be here to help you anytime.
