Having difficulty connecting to virgin bank account

Cannot seem to connect to bank account goes through the process but does not send me back to QuickBooks site either blank screen or the approval screen to start connecting

Here are some of the possible reasons you're having trouble connecting your Virgin Money to QuickBooks Online (QBO): 

  • The bank has multiple names on our list.
  • The bank is performing system maintenance.
  • There are notifications on your bank’s website that need your attention.
  • The bank isn't a participating financial institution if this is the first time you connect it to the program.

If this isn't your first time connecting the bank to the system, please make sure you use the URL for your bank's website. This ensures that you are utilizing the right Virgin Money listing. Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. On your bank website's screen, copy the URL and then paste it in to the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Choose the bank emblem.
  5. Manually enter your User ID and Password for the financial institution website.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Complete the extra security verification and select Connect.
  8. Select the Account type drop-down menu to your bank account.
  9. Click Connect.

 

Second, let's manually update your bank account. This refreshes the bank connection within the program. Just go back to the Banking menu. Then, select Update at the upper right. 

 

You can also contact your bank to see if there are any maintenance updates available or to request a QuickBooks connection. If everything is fine with your bank, make sure to select the correct bank name when connecting the account.

I'm having the same issue. when pressing refresh it only swirls 2 seconds then stops so no updates. having to enter manually but this shows as a cash transaction

I appreciate you refreshing the connection. Since the manual update didn't work, please sign in to your bank’s website directly to check for any alerts or security messages. If everything appears clear there, I recommend contacting our live support team for further investigation.

 

Regarding the transactions appearing as cash, you can manually edit or update those entries and reassign them to the correct bank account. Please also double-check that the payment method is set to a non-cash so they don't appear as cash transactions. Besides that, for any future transactions, use the manual upload feature to import your bank data. This will keep your records current and accurate.
