I'm here to provide some insights about being unable to connect your HSBC business accounts through Open Banking in QuickBooks Online.
At this time, our engineers are still investigating the reason why HSBC account holders are unable to connect their accounts in QuickBooks Online using Open Banking.
To be notified with the current status of this issue, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They will add you to the list of the affected users so you can receive an email once any updates on this matter are made available.
For now, you can manually import your bank transactions to QBO using CSV file uploads until this problem will be fixed.
Please know that our system is updating the bank feeds to comply with new Open Banking regulations.
You can check out these articles below to learn more about this process, and see what are those financial institutions that currently supports this feature:
I know you really wanted to connect your account right now, Ken.
Our online banking team is still working with the bank's engineers to get this fixed. As soon as the connection becomes available, you will receive an update via email. Just be sure to contact Support, so they can link your account to the open ticket. Only them has the capacity to do this.
Right now, please consider uploading your transactions, like what Betty mentioned above. I personally like using the CSV web connect format because I have control over the mapping. This is also a better option if your bank only provides an Excel format (XLXS). You can save it as CSV (comma delimited) and use the file to upload your transactions.
Having tried to get this to work many times and posted questions on several occasions I have been successful. I removed my HSBC account from QBO completely and started afresh. I have HSBC Business banking so it took several attempts to get the correct banking credentials. The selection in the front page windows were not right. I searched in the end and even then there were several options but I persevered and got there in the end.
Kend4758, are you able to share how you managed to be successful linking an HSBC business account? There are no HSBC options in the current menu. Did you use an alternative?

As my peers stated above, it's best to manually upload bank transactions at this time. In case you missed it, here's the link for the article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
