Credit card transactions

Let me guide you in recording your credit card transactions efficiently in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you haven't already, you can create a credit card account to track the CC charges. Here's how:

1. Go to Settings and select Chart of Accounts. Then, click on New.
2. Enter an Account name for your CC.
3. Select Credit Card from the Account type drop-down list, and pick the corresponding Detail type.
4. Enter Opening Balance, and fill out the starting date in the As of field.
5. To provide additional information about an account in QuickBooks, you can add a Description.
6. Select Save when done.

Next, let's create an Expense for each of the business CC charges. You can follow these steps:

1. Go to the + New icon, then select Expense.
2. Under the Payment account drop-down menu, pick the credit card account you've set up.
3. Choose the credit card type under the Payment method drop-down list.
4. Fill in the other necessary information.
5. Once done, click on Save and Close.
