This usually happens because your bank shared only the accounts you selected when you reconnected. When you reconnect and pick specific accounts instead of choosing all of them, your bank stops sending updates for the missing ones. As a result, those accounts drop off your Transactions tab even though they are still active. It is an easy detail to miss after going through reconnect steps and troubleshooting. Here is how you can get your two credit card accounts back.
Step 1: Reconnect and select all accounts
- Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
- Select the Link account dropdown, then choose Manage connections.
- Find your bank and start the reconnect process.
- When your bank asks which accounts to share, choose All Accounts (sometimes labeled Consent All) instead of selecting individual ones. This doesn't add every account to your books, it just gives QuickBooks the full connection to pull from.
- On the next screen, select only the checking and credit card accounts you actually want in QuickBooks, then map each one to the right account in your chart of accounts.
Step 2: If the credit cards still won't connect
- Go back to Bank transactions, select the tile for the account, then select the Edit icon.
- Select Edit sign-in info and re-enter your Chase credentials manually rather than relying on a saved autofill.
- If you still see an error, disconnect the two credit card accounts from Manage connections first, then reconnect from scratch and select All Accounts again at the consent screen.
One person handling all the bank connection setup for your company also helps prevent this from happening again, since every reconnect resets which accounts your bank is sharing.
Once your credit card accounts show up and start downloading, you can jump straight into reviewing and categorizing the new transactions.
