Question

How do I import past bank transactions? I currently only have the past 3 months imported but need the transactions to be imported as far back as possible.

What file format you can download from your bank? qbo, csv, pdf or else?

The duration of historical bank transactions that can be imported through bank feeds varies by bank, Valley. Let me outline another process you can use to import the rest of your transactions.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you have the option to manually upload transactions from your bank to ensure that all your financial data is up to date and accurately reflected in your accounting records.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Accounting, then select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account into which you want to upload the transactions.
  3. Click on the Link account dropdown, then choose Upload from the file.
  4. If your account is not connected to online banking, choose Upload from the file.
  5. Select Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, click Continue.
  6. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into, then click Continue.
  7. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns in your file with the correct fields in QuickBooks, then select Continue.
  8. Choose the transactions you would like to import and click Continue.
  9. Confirm by selecting Yes, then hit Done.
