How do I remove deleted transaction notification from Reconciliation Change Report? Transaction has been unreconciled and reconciled correctly and duplicate was deleted.

I have deleted the duplicate transaction in register, but now the reconciliation report has the deleted transaction notification. Everything appears to be corrected. Does this notification mean I didn't fix it correctly?

To ensure everything is fully deleted, let's also double-check that the transactions don't appear in your bank statement.

 

Deleting a reconciled transaction can cause an imbalance in the reconciliation history. Even if the transaction is re-entered and reconciled correctly, the deletion will appear in the Reconciliation Change Report, marking a change to a previous period.

 

Therefore, the answer to your question is no. It doesn't mean you didn't fix it correctly. The notification isn't an error but a permanent record of the alteration made in your books.

 

You can also consult your accountant to ensure that any changes don't affect other areas of the financial statements, as they have tools to reverse entire reconciliations if necessary.
