Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community, doctorsheahan. I'll ensure you can see a hidden account in QuickBooks Online by performing the steps below.
To see hidden or inactive account in QuickBooks, I suggest going to the Chart of accounts section. Then, you have to customize the page so you can see all your inactive accounts.
Here's how:
Click the Gear icon ⚙ and select Chart of accounts.
Next to the printer icon, select the small gear ⚙ icon.
Select the Include inactive checkbox, then click anywhere to appear the updated data.
Thanks for dropping by here in the Community, @krulka. I can share some insights on why you cannot access the Chart of Accounts (COA).
Before we start, may I ask what QuickBooks product you're using? This way, we can identify if your product has a feature to access COA.
Each QuickBooks product comes with enhanced features necessary for managing your accounts. However, there are certain differences in features between each product.
If you use QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), please note that this product doesn't have a COA feature for setting up and managing accounts. The product is designed to help you track your business income and expenses using Schedule C categories.
