I have all the necessary information to assist you in changing your credit card payments to expenses that have already been reconciled, Morton.

If you need to change the transaction type, you can un-reconcile the transactions to remove the reconciliation status. After that, you can safely delete them. Then, create a new transaction with the correct type to replace the deleted one to ensure the accuracy of your records.

Here's a step-by-step process to remove a reconciled transaction from the account register in QuickBooks:

  1. Navigate to the Settings ⚙️ icon and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Locate the account that has the reconciled transactions and click on View register.
  3. Look for the specific transaction you want to remove. If it's reconciled, you'll notice an R in the checkmark ✔️ column.
  4. In the checkmark ✔️ column, click on the box with the R until it becomes blank. This action removes the reconciliation status from the transaction.
  5. Save your changes by selecting Save.

If you need to change the category of a transaction, the process is simple. Just open the transaction and update it with the correct category. I've attached a screenshot for your visual reference:
